Goals, gymnastics, squats and grip

Two things happened last night. The first was discovering I can now hold a tuck planche and the other was looking back at the fitness goals I set earlier in the year.

The planche us v. cool and had to become part of tonight’s sessions. The goals were less so – I haven’t really done any of them yet. The list includes the levers, a 10sec handstand , 200 snatches in 10mins and snatching the 24kg for reps. There were also some around high rep swings but they were mainly a stepping stone to the snatches.

The levers will take a while but the snatches and handstand are doable by the end of the year. I need to start doing them though. They’ll need slightly different approaches. I’ll do handstands for at least ten minutes each day. For the snatches I’ll do a mix of light and long sets, heavy and short and pure leg strength.

Joint mobility
16kg KB snatch – 10R/10L

HS practice – 5mins
Tuck planche – 4 x 5sec
Adv tuck back lever – 4 x 12sec
Adv tuck front lever – 4 x 12sec

Bulgarian split squat, 16kg – 8R/8L, 20kg – 8R/8L, 6R/6L
In breaks, card tearing – 20 1/2, 18 1/4

Plate curl, 8kg – 6R/6L,6R/6L
Two hand pinch, 40kg – 4 x 10sec
